One World, One Promise
Post Event

The One World, One Promise event concluded this past weekend.
Nancy Peto and her team deserve our congratulations for hosting a great event!
If the information is available, a list of Buckeye District units and volunteers
attending and or staffing OWOP will be posted here.  Good pictures of scouts doing interesting things are always welcome.  If you have OWOP pictures that you would like to share on this page, send them to Al Magnuson.

Tom Bain, the OWOP program director and a beaver of good reputation, has sent out new information about Cub Scout programming at OWOP.  Unit leaders have been asked to spread the word and we're trying to do our part.  Follow this link to read Tom's comments about the Cub program.
Aerial map
The map above is an overhead view of the Ross County Fairgrounds at large scale. The map should be helpful to you for locating Parking, Camping, entrances, etc.  Clicking on the map will bring up addtional details in Google Maps.

The Ross County Fairgrounds is located a few miles north of Chillicothe, Ohio in Ross County. From Route 23 please use the brand new route 207 exit a few miles north of town (not on many printed maps). Go west on route 207 to the new traffic light at route 104, then turn north (right) onto route 104. You will go just a few hundred yards then turn east into the fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road (CR 236 on the map). You can approach the Fairgrounds from the north or south using route 104 also.

  • See the overview map attached. Note: The unfinished roadway in the photo is now fully open!
  • The entry lane of Fairgrounds Road (CR 236) becomes two-lanes as you approach the Fairgrounds. The left lane is for all vehicles headed for Parking. The right lane should be used only for the unit vehicle and or trailer entering the campground with a Pass, and for vendors and Program Providers setting up.
  • Remember: You can bring in your trailer early and start setting up before the Friday rush. See the Registered Camper’s Guide.

Camp Map and Parking

The map at the left illustrates the camp layout.  Cub Scout units are in area 718.  Each pack, troop, etc. attending the event should have gotten an event packet.   Among other things, the packet contains 1 (one, uno, un, одно, eins, etc) parking pass which can be used to drive a vehicle back into the campout area.  The pass is for equipment drop off only, once the designated vehicle is unloaded, it must be moved to the general parking area.  Unit trailers are permitted in the camping area.  All other vehicles must remain in the general parking area (somewhere I read the word, "towed").
Friday Evening 9:00 - 10:00
Leaders' Meeting

There will be a Unit Leader's meeting at 9:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Building.  Please send two adults to this meeting.  You  must have tickets (from the event pack) to enter.  Programs will be handed out along with t-shirts and patches.
