Questions, Questions, Questions

These are not exactly Frequently Asked Questions, but they were raised at least once or twice.  There's an emphasis on Webelos issues.

Each Webelos den must be sponsored by a scout troop . . . Why is this?
This event is an opportunity for Webelos to experience Boy Scout style camping.  Boy Scout camping is a significant departure from the family camping done by most Cub Packs and requires equipment most packs will not have.
What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is Sept. 15.  Webelos dens must decide whether to attend and line up a troop sponsor sometime in August. This deadline was chosen to simplify planning and purchase of program materials.
Will the Webelos receive the event patch?
yes
What about cost?
The camporee fee will be $10.  In addition, Webelos and Leaders will need to pay their host troop for food.
Does each Webelos scout need to be accompanied by a parent?
Each Webelos scout should be responsible to a specific adult from his pack.  The Camporee committee will not insist that there be one adult for each scout, but does recommend man-to-man over zone defense.
How should a Webelos den find a troop sponsor?
Worthington troops who have committed to attending the Camporee will be listed in a table below along iwth the appropriate contact information.  Troops that wish to be listed should contact Al Magnuson.  Troops from outside Worthington are welcome to list their information here as well.
What if I have more questions?
Contact one of the co-chairs listed above.  Answers will be posted here when appropriate.  The event committee will also be sending bulletins to registered Webelos leaders.  The bulletins will have detailed information about camping, the program, etc.
